HOW I USE CANVAS TO MONITOR MY STUDENTS'
PROGRESS WITH THEIR IEP GOALS

you may start following the steps below.
you may start following the steps below.
1. Create a Master Sheet of GoalsI went through all of my students' goals and put them on one master sheet. I wanted to be aware of what assignments I needed to come up with throughout the school year. If I could get worksamples from my general education teachers, that would be great! However, in my line of work, it is best to always be prepared.

Specific Goal List
When I know the goals, I am able to slowly gather the assignments that I could push in to the specific students.
2. In Canvas, I put each student of mine in their OWN section (although under 1 course). This will allow me to assign assignments to them as I see fit.All of these goals have a corresponding assignment in my Canvas. I will give them assignments depending on the goals listed in their IEPs.
Although I am aware that some of the students know each other and recognize each other in regards to who's been in a sped class with them, I still don't think that it is my business to give them access to this information. That would be a violation of their privacy. I had to ensure that the students did not see the other students who have IEPs just like them. Be sure to watch the video on the right to fix this issue in Canvas. |
